Sahel Facility: Call for Proposals to Support Peacebuilding in Mali
The Sahel Facility is launching a call for proposals from NGOs aimed at funding peace-building development projects. The target implementation region is the “south arc” of Mali.
The aim of the Sahel Facility is to contribute to development, the promotion of peace and the prevention of violent conflicts in the selected areas of intervention. The funded projects are expected to contribute to:
- improved livelihoods and employment opportunities,
- an improved access to socio-economic infrastructure and natural resource management,
- a greater social cohesion and effective cooperation with public stakeholders.
This call for proposals is designed for NGOs with long-term experience in Mali and the capacity to manage a large-scale project. In a spirit of promoting national expertise, applications from national NGOs are strongly encouraged.
The target area is the “south arc” region in Mali (the regions of Kayes, Sikasso and Koulikoro according to the administrative division before February 2023).
The indicative overall budget for this call is €2 million over a period of 4 to 5 years. The project is scheduled to start in March 2025.

It receives support in the supervision and monitoring of projects by local and international staff from an international design office based in the region.
