Reducing tension to improve social cohesion and security
The Liptako-Gourma plateau, located at the intersection of Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali, is subject to specific social tensions as well as the challenges encountered by the whole Sahelian region. As in other areas, the first vectors of conflict are the marginalization of some young people and the lack of confidence between the people and the security and defense forces. Conflicts between breeders and farmers make the situation even more complicated.
This cross-border project aims to improve the community security and social cohesion of people in this entire area. To do so, it will strongly involve the young people and women in the local communities. It will take the form of interventions in the field aiming to attenuate the three major vectors of conflicts.
