Change is possible by accelerating the transition to a fairer, safer and more egalitarian society.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alliance-sahel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/005.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alliance-sahel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/005.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.alliance-sahel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/005-768x384.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The participation of women and girls at all levels of social, political, economic and cultural life is essential<\/strong> to achieving stability and sustainable development in the Sahel. On the economic front, sustained investment is needed to further promote women&#8217;s entrepreneurship. Intensifying their participation in conflict prevention and management, peace-building and humanitarian disaster management, will help stabilize the socio-political context necessary to promote development actions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Alliance members <strong>support 160 projects with gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls as their main objective, and 663 projects with a significant objective.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alliance-sahel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/000-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alliance-sahel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/000-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.alliance-sahel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/000-1-768x384.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Gathered within a dedicated working group, the members of the Sahel Alliance are implementing a number of actions to reinforce this priority agenda, including: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>setting up a system for sharing research and knowledge on gender through the Alliance Sahel website<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>partnerships with women&#8217;s civil society organizations;
