The Sahel Alliance has developed tools to provide transparent information to the public and to facilitate coordination efforts between members. The data available on the main Monitoring & Evaluation tools has recently been updated to improve access to reliable information, which is essential for monitoring development initiatives in the Sahel. The update covers data as of December 31, 2023 for portfolio data and December 31, 2022 for geolocated data.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why are these tools essential<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the current Sahel context, these M&E tools are indispensable resources for identifying development actions on the ground and contributing to their efficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They serve to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Ensure transparency and promote accountability<\/strong>: by offering visibility into Sahel Alliance-labeled projects, these tools strengthen the trust relationship between the Alliance, local communities, and partners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Facilitate decision-making<\/strong>: updated and geolocated data enable users to visualize the implementation points of project activities by region, department, or municipality. This supports the adjustment of strategies to match local priorities, optimizing the impact of interventions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Improve coordination<\/strong>: by avoiding overlaps in efforts, these tools foster better collaboration among members, ensuring more harmonized interventions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Provide insights into Sahelian contexts<\/strong>: these tools offer an overview of local conditions within each country, whether related to the socio-economic situation of populations, insecurity in certain areas, climate challenges, or humanitarian needs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Reserved for Sahel Alliance members, this database offers more comprehensive information on portfolio projects. Users can filter data by country, sector, or member organization, and export it in Excel or PNG format for in-depth analysis. This database has recently been integrated into the Public Data Portal with restricted access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Integrated Territorial Approach (ATI) Database <\/strong>\u2013 Data updated as of 12\/31\/2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This Geographic Information System (GIS), specifically designed for Alliance members, is a key tool for monitoring and planning projects, particularly in fragile areas. It provides an overview of geolocated data<\/strong> on members’ activities, along with contextual information (population conditions and needs) in intervention regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
