Statement on the Situation in Mali

The (provisional) Sahel Cooperation Platform expresses its deep concern over the violent attacks that struck Mali over the weekend of the 25 April 2026. Our thoughts are with all who have been suffered by the loss of life, injuries, displacement, and fear caused by these attacks.

We underline that communities across Mali have demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of prolonged crisis and call for sustained solidarity and attention to those most affected and in need.

We reaffirm our commitment to stand alongside the people of Mali, working with humanitarian, development, and local partners to mitigate suffering, uphold human dignity, and contribute to conditions that allow for peace, stability, and sustainable development.
